Directors

Both directors are highly respected in their own particular fields and in 2004 the Company was nominated by the Landscape Institute, the UK professional institute of chartered landscape architects, for an award to recognise the landscape architects who have contributed the most outstanding landscape design in Wales in the last 25 years.

Peter Styles initially gained a coveted Diploma in Horticulture from the renowned Royal Botanic Gardens Kew which has given him the skills to offer professional advice on plant selection and design throughout the world. He subsequently went on to study and qualify in Landscape Architecture in London, gaining fellowships with the Landscape Institute and the Royal Society of Arts. He has, throughout his professional career, been a member of numerous committees including Prince of Wales Trust , Bartlett School of Architecture, Landscape Institute P.R. Committee, Professional Plant Users Group, Artworks Wales and the Welsh Development Agency Landscape Industry Forum. He is currently a member of the Forestry Commission National Landscape Advisory Panel, a trustee of Oriel Gallery and an external examiner at the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew. Education plays a prominent role in the company’s activities and Peter has been appointed to the new University of Glyndwr validation team, responsible for setting up a new degree courses in Landscape Design, Art and Horticulture. He also lectures in landscape design and project management at the University.

Brian Lingard trained as an architect in Manchester before forming his own highly successful architectural practice and gaining a Fellowship with the Royal Institute of British Architects. His architectural skills provide a valuable contribution to tourist development and planning projects within the Company.
